Dear Activist,
The House’s 20-week abortion ban is heading to the Senate.
We have to make it absolutely clear to all 100 U.S. senators that pro-choice Americans won’t stand for this attack on our rights.

We have to hold the line.
Last week, the GOP-led House of Representatives passed a ban on all abortion after 20 weeks with no exception at all to protect a woman’s health. Now the bill goes to the Senate, where we’re depending on pro-choice leadership to stop it from advancing.
So where do we come in? It’s up to us -- all of us -- to let our senators know that we are watching them at this critical moment. Take action now to urge your senators to stand up against the House’s 20-week ban and hold the line for women’s rights.
Let me be frank: the Senate may be a firewall against anti-choice legislation, but our margin there is razor-thin. The fact is that we only have 41 reliable pro-choice votes in the Senate right now. That’s why we have to make sure all 100 U.S. senators know that pro-choice Americans won’t stand for this attack on our rights.
Pro-choice senators need to know that we have their backs. Senators on the fence need to know that the American people want them to stand up for women’s rights. And anti-choice senators must realize there are consequences for stripping those rights away.
I don’t need to tell you how terrible this bill is. But you may not know that this is just the beginning. Twenty-week bans like this are being enacted across the country in states under control of anti-choice politicians. We can expect to see anti-choice lobbying groups like Susan B. Anthony List working hard to push the most successful anti-choice bills being concocted in the states up to the federal level.
That’s why we need you to send this powerful message to senators today: an army of people stands ready to fight the anti-choice, anti-woman agenda, starting with this 20-week abortion ban.
Pro-choice Sens. Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray, and Richard Blumenthal are already calling out Boehner and his cohorts who passed this bill. They aren’t going to let this attack on women stand, but they need all of us speaking up with them.
Thank you for all you do to make choice real for women.
